Background
The GGP LD Beef chip from Geneseek comprises approximately 10,000 SNPs, including the original 7,000 Illumina LD SNPs. The chip includes all markers used in routine parentage verification, along with several genetic traits. Examples of these traits are Alpha Mannosidosis, Coat Colour, DUN, Free Martinism and many more. For several tests additional royalties will be charged. Regarding BeadChips for Illumina genotyping, several options exist. Through our collaboration with Geneseek, we are able to offer a wide range of BeadChips including custom products and the regular range of Illumina chips. In addition, we can offer a custom set, dedicated to your needs. The majority of Illumina BeadChips is based on a 24-sample format. This means, that a requirement may be in place to submit a minimum of 24 samples. This does not apply to BeadChips that are run frequently.
